Meet Vanessa Fraser, your course trainer

Originally from South Africa, I arrived in England in 2004 and took the step to become a Citizen in 2019 – thank goodness I was accepted! It has been an interesting journey.

In South Africa I worked for an IT company as a Universe Programmer and moved within the company to become a Business Analyst. This was more my forte as I preferred working with people. Upon arriving in England we had to reinvent ourselves and start from the beginning. I chose to focus on my young boys before working in secondary schools & colleges as an exams and data officer. I have extensive experience with SIMS, Exams and anything technical. Following this, in 2015, I accepted a role, in Greater Manchester, on an IT helpdesk the main focus being on SIMS support. The role eventually evolved into managing the team. I love working with people and get a great sense of satisfaction when being able to help and support.

I have some amazing people in my life and enjoy spending time with them, especially my 2 granddaughters. Apart from SIMS, my other passions are jewellery making (especially silversmithing) and reading.
